Part 6 the adventure

Tuesday Morning we prepare for the arrival of Victor our facilitator(the one helping us through the adoption process in Ukraine) He arrived at 10am for our noon appointment. We walked through the city much farther than Americans are used to walking. back home we would have definitely taken a car! But it was great to see more of the city, we saw some beautiful churches and victor took us to a local market where I actually found a Harley Davidson T-shirt from Ukraine for my step Dad. At noon we met the Psychologist at the SDA she was a delightful lady as far as we could tell since we had no clue what she was saying. It is interesting to be in a place where you can't understand anyone. Its like living with a tween Ha that's for you London I love you P. S. Happy Early B-Day.
The appointment with the SDA went great. we were concerned that they would make an issue of Iliah's other siblings but they did not Victor said that the photos we had of our time with Iliah over Christmas really helped the situation. The SDA said our referral will be ready by 4pm tomorrow then we will take the eleven hour train ride to Zaporishia. After the appointment we went to a Ukraine restaurant and I must say I am a fan of the food, being in the industry I like the way the Europeans do food! Breaking news we are at the cafe and Heidi got locked in the bathroom stall and could not get out luckily Jackie was there for the rescue and a major catastrophe was averted. One thing is for sure with Heidi being pregnant we will have discovered every bathroom in Kiev by the end of tomorrow.

  1. Love it! It is so good to hear all the stories and am glad your appointment went well at the SDA. Hopefully that is forshadowing other good things to come! I'm sure Illiah will be super excited to see you. Camp is a really different environment so don't be alarmed. Enjoy the train ride! Heidi, make sure you take the sanitizer with you and hello! We want some pictures too (not of the bathroom, just regular ones). Have a great time!
