Well, from my point of view, we all know how much a clean and germ a phoebe I am! The melt down came, I've seen one to many cockroaches. We were in the coffee shop yesterday and I just lost it, I wish I could blame the pregnancy, but the sanitary conditions are really wearing on me!!! Jeremy scrubbed the bathroom for an hour and a half and that made it just o.k.. In the beginning I thought this is so much better than the last apartment, but being in that place for a few days you really see how dirty the conditions are. My mom said last night that she feels like she is living in the movie/ musical Oliver. That explains our living conditions! Sad, but true. Now the great thing out of all of this is that we are getting our son out of here and in to America the land of the free where it's clean and full of smiles and love. I say that because I feel such oppression here, no one smiles, it's there culture. No one looks happy, most people look at the ground and don't make eye contact. I've counted on one hand how many smiles we've gotten. Now the orphanage we get all kinds of smiles and laughter. Every child wants love and attention and wants you to love them enough to take them home!! We hope to take lots of pictures of all the children, so that if we have anyone in our paths who have a heart for adoption will be able to see how precious these children are, and will forever be in our hearts!
My heart goes out to you, Heidi, despite the conditions you have endured you still look for the smile everyday. Once you are back with Iliah I'm sure he will make up for all the smiles and hugs you so deserve. I saw the picturs on Flicker...it helped seeing the environment, people and of course Iliah. He is adorable with a beauiful smile. Victor seems to be an awesome warrior in this process. Only one question, how long to you have to stay after you go to court? Or will you be able to come home right away ? Stay healthy and strong, Love Dad and celeste
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with being clean. Having been stationed all over the world while on Active Duty, I've seen similar if not worse conditions. Being pregnant does not help!
