Its been one month since Heidi and Illiah came home. One month with our new family has seemed like days. Everyone is doing great some small bumps here and there and then one big baby bump for baby Berlin. By the way its a Girl!
London and Illiah act as if they have been brother and sister for ever. I'm not sure why I am surprised since they have always been siblings in God's grand design. Seeing them together reassures us everyday that we have made the right decision.
They play and pick on each other like true siblings.
Illiah loves school, although we are not sure how much he has learned in the first month he still loves it. He has never seen anything like the schools here. over 500 children per grade.
Things that are different:
Lots of noise, having two children is way ore noisy then one girl, plus Illiah has seemed to raise the volume level of our daughter as well.
Two set of Activities, Heidi is taxi extraordinaire taking London to swimming and Illiah to Soccer.
Food Lots and Lots of Food. I never thought a 75lb kid could eat so much. he is like one of those Chinese hot dog eaters!
Things that are Sad:
Over the past couple of days Illiah has been crying for what seems to be no reason. We will look over at him and he will have a couple of tears rolling down his face. We ask him what is wrong but he says nothing. We ask him if he likes it here and he says yes. We tell him that we love him and he cries more. Although everyday he understand and is able to communicate more we are still along way off from understanding all of his feelings. Hopefully we can fully communicate before he hits the pre teen stage where he doesn't want to communicate with his parents!!!!
After one of his tearful events today I sat him down and told him that we loved him. I asked him if he understood and he said yes. I asked how you said love in Ukraine and he said Le Bleu I am sure I am miss spelling it.
It must be the overwhelming changes are finally catching up to him. He must feel so Isolated with not being able to communicate freely.
Things that are sweet:
Every moment with my new family. The new experiences, the love, affection and yes even the growing pains.
By the end of the year Illiah should be communicating with ease. Just in time to have another child in the house who can communicate its needs and seems to cry for no reason.
For all of you who prayed for us, gave us support or who just took an interest in our story thank you and God Bless!
