Well its day 25 in the Ukraine. Life is pretty routine here now that we are alone. We go to the beach once a day to see Iliah. Going twice was a bit much plus we are cutting costs. We have been cooking our meals at home, well Heidi has been cooking. Its great to have a home cooked meal and not have to struggle through a non English menu and a non English speaking server.
Heidi has done a great job with the food even with our limited pantry. We go to the grocery store almost everyday but only get a few things. Its hard to figure out what things are when you can't read the packages. And if there is no pictures forget it. I was trying to figure out if something was sugar or salt. In the end I had to rip open a corner of the bag and taste it. I thought for sure the KGB or whatever they have here was going to arrest me but luckily they had their eyes on the milk section instead. OK bad Joke!
Everything in the store is like that, Try to find milk or even better 2% milk. Another thing we take for granted is reading the directions. Not gonna happen!
The Dipiazzos gave us their DVD player so we can now watch American DVDs! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
So a recap we go to the beach @ 10am we come home at noon.
We have lunch
We then walk to the store
We come back read, nap or fuss around the apartment
Then we eat dinner
Talk on Skype
then watch a movie
Then Bed.
I know you are extremely envious of our exciting non stop Rock Star lives. Its ok all this can be yours for the bargain price of .... $26,000!!! yeah! Woohoo!
Our highlight for the day is seeing Iliah on the beach. Most days we get a small army of children but some days we have just Iliah. Those are our the best days.
I titled this blog life on a Deserted Island because now that the Dipiazzos are gone that's what it feels like.
Sure we see people but we can't talk to them or at least communicate. We are surrounded by people but yet all alone. We stick to ourselves, Life is routine and solitary. If only I had a volleyball so I could call it Wilson. Well I guess the soccer ball will have to do.
Oh on a personal note I am feeling better. I would say I am 80% Still not ready for soccer matches with the kids but getting there. Also I have a flight home on the 13th. I may have to come back for the second court date but there are so many things that need taken care of back home.
